Been a while since I have last updated the blog. It has been really busy with all assignments. Plus, I am working on translations and dedicating myself to study. I need to do this…

Where does the idea come from?

28 Mar

Is that even possible to possess two kinds of ideas or way to produce ideas at the same time? or is there such thing as “kinds of ideas” in the first place? Set aside some arguments on it, I just want to review what we have talked about.

My friends and I talked about “Eastern” and “Western” way of thinking, in general, we argued that eastern are more based on “experiences” whereas western way of ideas are more based on theories, rules, and equations.

In my opinion, I would say both have advantages and disadvantages. For instance, eastern ways are a lot applicable when in a case that is specifically defined or known, when western way of thought is more, at the first sight, based on theories which can not be appropriately used for finding a breakthrough/solution for a “undefined” matter, but works generally.

Then, we talked about how our mind-sets are developed, and how it benefits us in the course of understanding and finding answers to some problems, for examples, when you first encounter with a new culture, how are you going to adopt yourself to it? or even be against to it and pursuit your way of understanding the world on these new people that you have met with….

We kinda concluded(I say this because I think we should have more time to talk about this kind of things), that ideas do help understanding, (ideas in this case, mostly that are derived from your own culture or experiences from how you lived your life + how you have been raised up). The second question of which, is that possible to wield, or think in two or more than two kinds of ideas/(or set of ideas) at the same time? to that matter, we brought up a scale to it, that we can actually possess several sets of ideas in our head simultaneously with some restrictions to each of these ideas that are presented. Say, for example, we have 60% of understanding in one culture and 60% in another, if we set a person having lived in one culture as 100% of comprehension level.

Having discussed it, I came to think that I should be able to understand two or more kinds of way of seeing the world “fluently” and deeply, so that i can be somehow a translater or interpretor between the two kinds without interrupting the two from one to another.

Certainty Not a Good Post : Double Standard

Where idea comes from? – Origin of Idea.

Just a memo before moving on….rubbish!

(Ja-ENla)

One of my close friends kindly uncuffened and drew a dream; a philosopher, his initial future job isn’t exactly this though.

A philosopher is none in my favourite types of person. I put aside their striving effort they have put in their lives for  fabrication of ideas,  I know this is what great about them. And it is for me something that I envy about, which “in a sense” I shouldn’t have start my thought on (dunno what I am saying but, im basically saying that I am not supposed to be writing this post)

Philosopher for me is someone incredible, and crazy enough to make a change in others’ live.
(I think this thought was derived/influenced from what Steve Jobs has done, and his “believers”)

He brought about the thought what is called “Autopolesis” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autopoiesis. Autopolesis is from what I understood, an idea, in a picture-ish-way-of-description; every entity (or human being) has a rolling ball with a box floating above it, which intakes and eliminates “new” ideas that surround it, to live. He then started to talk on “creativity”. His “leading person” has a controversial idea : “Everything — architecture —  is calculable, everything is a mash-up(this is how he called, —mixture) of something else(es)”.

My friend disagrees with his Sensei’s opinion though, having said to him “It sounds like you are in denial of one’s creativity”, but is in favour of it(I wanna say that his own idea seems close to his Sensei’s although he says it’s not).

My friend was talking super logically, really rational and smooth. His talking could be for ages straight. I wish he could have time for that for himself, without any disturbance around him, like what Socrates believed to be doing when he formed the most well-known “idea”.

I dunno, what I am saying. But his reasoning, appears to be breaking down elements of “something”. And I disagree with it (mostly). I like the idea because I love to analyse things, what composes them, since it helps me understand stuff better. However, sometime it is needed to skip the though and move on, especially when you are thinking of thing that is only executable(possible to happen) with the great help from others(like changing a norm).

Being a “bilingual” + learning a language (my choices are Japanese, English and German), I came to think that “defining” is just an interesting thing that a human being does. We define something because we must move on, or we want to do so, to label something, to be able to talk about it, and something varies with in a language.

He pointed out the importance of criticism and discussion, and hinted about giving these opportunity through educational ways. What people here needs is discussions and time to make these…..

Let’s just put this way…I wanna go to the United States. Germany and England to touch the living language, English. Have two in hands,(English without idioms or whatsoever ( like Esperanto), and American English)

Silly Internet Service Provider Bill

Last night, with my roomies, we talked about stuff that involves tremendous amount of money: one person is moving out. Dude, we are in debt. Why are you doing this to us?
(couldn’t do any since she now has a health problem)

So anyway, we had to clear out how much each one of us has to pay for this and that, and turned out to be …around 600-800 dollars for the last 4 months + very first few months (rent fee is not included) How could that be so much…

I looked through the bills and found out that there is so much of waste, like 50-100 dollars a month.
Roomies made a contract with ISP without knowing anything….we pay double the bill for stupid, unnecessary plans. * we have a contact with NTT+Yahoo(ISP) for FTTH.

(NTT)

1500 yen for basic plan (phone bill) (UNNEEDED)+

663 yen for Apartment Connection +

500 yen for REMOTE SUPPORT (UNNEEDED)

450 yen for modem  +
3 yen for universal service fee +

= 3271 yen (VAT included : 155 yen)

(CUT)
1500+500 = 2000 yen here.

(Yahoo) THIS IS STUPID

525 yen for Yahoo! BB life doctor (UNNEEDED)+
525 yen for BB Phone Option Pack (UNNEEDED)+
3 yen for universal service fee+
315 yen for BB Support Wide (UNNEEDED)+
997 yen for ISP +
525 yen for BB life (WTF?) UNNEEDED+
315 yen for BB software ( UNNEEDED)+
490 yen for wifi modem+
315 yen for BB software v2(UNNEEDED)+
598 yen for BB Security Software( UNNEEDED)+
1039 yen for Remote TV (UNNEEDED)
= 5674 yen (VAT included)

(CUT)
525+525+315+525+525+315+315+598+1039= 4682 yen( UNNEEDED)

total 6682 yen…ouch.
